Connect 2019 Wrap Up

Connect 2019 is a Wrap!

Thanks to all our attendees for making Connect 2019 a success.

If we didn’t do enough already to make our “data geek” status known, above are some pictures and below are some stats from Baltimore that prove it!

  • 451 higher education professionals and data geeks from 80 institutions joined us in Baltimore for three days of discovering, exchanging and connecting on all things student engagement

  • 125 educational sessions, including 8 pre-conference sessions, ranged across 6 varied categories and helped attendees collaborate, innovate, educate, assess, manage, and migrate

  • 55 Member Campuses presented stories and breakthroughs, sharing with one another their approaches to making an impact at their institutions

  • Over 35 participants in user research sessions which enrich our development plans

  • At least a dozen moments of introspection came during Dr. Walter Kimbrough’s keynote speech, where he addressed equity and inclusion as important pillars of student engagement—he also got a few laughs from the audience when mentioning how he interacts with students on social media as the @HipHopPrez

  • 9 campus contenders entered our finale gameshow “Champion of Connect,” but only 1 winner emerged. Clifton Shambry, Jr of Johns Hopkins University managed to earn a bag of goodies after outplaying all opponents through a grueling gauntlet of People Bingo, Charades, and Two Truths and a Lie! See a snapshot in the slideshow above.

  • 4 partners and invited guests helped us make Connect as informative as it could be! A big thank you to Democracy Works, GivePulse, NASPA’s Center for First-generation Student Success and the National Campus Leadership Council for joining us and sharing their research and expertise in sessions and one-on-one conversations

  • 3 food trucks served up some tasty eats between sessions on Thursday—and we put a real dent in Baltimore’s supply of crab cakes!

  • 3 floors, 2 DJs and 1 Big Night Out took attendees on an exclusive dinner boat cruise throughout Baltimore’s inner harbor—and gave us the chance to see plenty of stellar dance moves!

  • 1 new product announced! Campus Labs Milestone was released as part of our new Skills & Achievement solution. If you haven’t already, be sure to sign up for the webinar!

  • Our product keynote highlighted our vision for a world with ZERO-minute organization re-registration reviews

  • And last but not least…countless networking opportunities! Connect truly shines when all our Member Campuses get together and share concepts, ideas and success stories about how to increase their student engagement

We hope to see you all next year. Stay tuned for details on Connect 2020 in the coming months!

“This is such a unique conference because it is geared toward a specific function in higher ed. However, we have the opportunity to meet and dialogue with a variety of individuals. The logisitcs of this conference are well planned and well though out. This is one of the better conferences I have the opportunity to attend and I hope to attend again in the future.”

At the API Fireside chat at #CLConnect19 and I’m not a tech person but loving what they are talking about. How do we better connect students to engagement opportunities through technology?!

If anyone is looking to do a case study on customer service they need to look at @CampusLabs. I am always blown away by how helpful, kind, and quick they are to serve others. This undoubtedly rolls into their platform creation and student engagement advocacy. #CLConnect19
