SACS Accreditation Changes

As of January 6, 2012 the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) released an updated version of their accreditation standards which all institutions accredited by or applying for accreditation from SACSCOC are now subject to. These changes included description, and in some cases title, changes to existing standards and requirements, as well as the removal of a comprehensive standard and the addition of 4 new federal requirements. All institutions submitting any type of accreditation documentation in March of 2012 or later are now required to respond to these changes and additions.

If you are a Compliance Assist client using the Accreditation module, then these changes were automatically made for you and, as always with our software, the only thing you have to worry about is providing evidence – the rest is taken care of for you! Whether you are currently working on a Compliance Report, a Fifth-Year Interim Report or an Initial Accreditation application, your Compliance Assist website was updated within two weeks of the released changes. After changes were made, member campuses were notified by their assigned support coordinator and also given a summary of the changes which displayed existing wording for affected requirements and standards, the changes that have been made, and then the new version of each affected standard/requirement.
