I recently had the opportunity to travel to Orlando for my third SACSCOC Annual Meeting. This year’s theme was “Innovation, Imagination, and Excellence: Rethinking Accreditation in the 21^st Century.” Since all of the Compliance Assist products have a very similar theme, our team felt right at home! Conference highlights for us included winning the best booth award and meeting Compliance Assist users.

Each year, more and more people become aware of Compliance Assist and our member campus list grows. We always enjoy meeting institutions who use Compliance Assist. This year, I got to speak with about 50 member campuses who stopped by the booth to say hello.  As usual, Accreditation was a hot topic for customers. SACS announced a variety of proposed changes/additions to the Compliance Certification process, which affects schools working on their initial application for Accreditation, Reaffirmation of Accreditation, Fifth-Year Interim Review, Focused Reports, and Substantive Change Requests, just to name a few. Bottom line – all SACS schools will now have to show how they are compliant with these changes. While these changes are still proposed, we expect a final copy of the changes to be posted soon, and Compliance Assist will then update all Accreditation websites automatically.

SACS continues to set a high standard for Accreditation and keeping up with changes in the Accreditation process and best practices is a big job. We continue to hear that our online solution for regional and program accreditations is saving institutions time, money and resources. The Compliance Assist Accreditation module will always be up to date with the most recent standards of your Accrediting body. The Compliance Assist team stays up to speed on any changes/additions that are happening, and once the final changes are posted all member campus sites are automatically updated, taking the responsibility off of the campus to go back and manually adjust their report(s).
